Our signature Sowing Seeds of Hope events are a critical source of funding for the life-changing work we do at Mustard Seed. Our annual fundraiser, typically held in the fall, was the first event to fall under the “Sowing Seeds” umbrella. In 2025, we replaced this annual event with a special celebration of our 30th anniversary. We will be introducing a new format for the fall fundraiser in 2026. In 2021, we held our first Sowing Seeds of Hope golf outing. Learn about how you can get involved with our golf outing here. A newer tradition is our Taco Dinner & Bake Sale every May, organized by some of our faithful volunteers with help from staff. Learn more below.
At Mustard Seed Shelter, we water the seed of inner strength in women experiencing homelessness so they can make a better life for themselves and their children.
Join the Movement, Right Here at Home

Tee Off for Transformation
Our annual golf outing is one of our favorite traditions – a day filled with camaraderie, competition, and compassion. This event raises critical funds to support our shelter’s daily operations and long-term programs. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or a supportive spectator, there’s a place for you on the green.
Join a team. Start a team. Walk to help end homelessness.
The Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) is a winterrific family-friendly fundraising walk in support of local charities. We hosted the first CNOY event in Saginaw on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Nearly 100 walkers, 16 teams and a dozen volunteers came together to help us raise over $12,000 in our inaugural year! We’re looking forward to doing it again Saturday, February 27, 2027.

The People Who Make It All Possible
Behind every event, every story, and every act of generosity is a team of dedicated individuals who make up the Mustard Seed family. From staff and board members to volunteers and former guests, these are the people who bring our mission to life.
Our work is made possible by the generous support of individuals, churches, clubs, organizations, and foundations. With 95 cents of every dollar going directly to our life-changing programs, your contributions make a tangible impact.

Our Mission: We water the seed of inner strength in women experiencing homelessness so they can make a better life for themselves and their children.
