Gathering for Good

From community fundraisers to signature celebrations, our events bring people together to support the mission of Mustard Seed Shelter. Whether you join us for a round of golf, a special anniversary, or a local fundraiser, every event helps plant seeds of hope and healing.

Our signature Sowing Seeds of Hope events are a critical source of funding for the life-changing work we do at Mustard Seed. Our annual fundraiser, typically held in the fall, was the first event to fall under the “Sowing Seeds” umbrella. In 2025, we replaced this annual event with a special celebration of our 30th anniversary. We will be introducing a new format for the fall fundraiser in 2026. In 2021, we held our first Sowing Seeds of Hope golf outing. Learn about how you can get involved with our golf outing here. A newer tradition is our Taco Dinner & Bake Sale every May, organized by some of our faithful volunteers with help from staff. Watch for more information about the next one in early 2026.

At Mustard Seed Shelter, we water the seed of inner strength in women experiencing homelessness so they can make a better life for themselves and their children.

Community Gatherings

Join the Movement, Right Here at Home
Throughout the year, we partner with community businesses and organizations to help raise funds that directly benefit Mustard Seed Shelter. These gatherings offer fun, fellowship, and a chance to make a meaningful impact.

Pints for Positive Change at Oracle Brewing: March and April 2026

Support Mustard Seed when you enjoy a draft pint featuring the Oracle sun logo during March and April. The brewery also offers other ways to donate. Watch for announcement of gathering at Oracle in Old Town Saginaw later in April here and on our Facebook page.

Annual Golf Outing

Tee Off for Transformation
Our annual golf outing is one of our favorite traditions – a day filled with camaraderie, competition, and compassion. This event raises critical funds to support our shelter’s daily operations and long-term programs. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or a supportive spectator, there’s a place for you on the green.

The Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) is a winterrific family-friendly fundraising walk in support of local charities. We’re hosting the first CNOY event in Saginaw on Saturday, February 28. Let’s gather together for people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness … because it’s cold out there. The link below will take you to Mustard Seed’s page on the CNOY site.
